Sarah Dobbins is a photographer in the Cookeville / Upper Cumberland area. She enjoys photographing everything under the sun, but her passion and area of expertise lies in photographing children. She has a simple, natural, journalistic style which brings out the individual personality of each child.

She shoots on location and with minimal equipment to best capture the spirit of a child. She doesn't use cumbersome studio equipment that can overwhelm and prevent flexibility in photographing children; she specializes in using natural light and working with you in your element to create fresh and vibrant photographs you will treasure forever.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Sarah enjoys the challenge of on-location photography. Don't worry about a messy house or finding the "perfect spot." She will work with what you have and will even move furniture here and there to get the right effect.

A session can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Sarah will work until she is satisfied she has the shots she wants. She's always willing to take breaks for snacks and work around naptimes.

Sarah does not utilize "say cheese" tactics. She doesn't use poses and fake-looking props. She will do what she does best--engaging and playing with a child until his or her personality shines through to be photographed.

WHAT TO WEAR:

Sarah's style is upbeat and modern.

She loves bright, colorful clothing with minimal logos. Funky hats and sweaters, bare feet, messy hair... all perfect for kids. She loves to capture newborns with more simple attire--try to avoid jeans, suspenders, vests, etc. on a baby. A simple t-shirt and diaper is great!

Sarah will work with you at the session to achieve the perfect look.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:

You will receive your proofs in the form of a private, online gallery in no more than 2 weeks after the session (but usually within a few days!). This way you can sit back, grab a cup of coffee (and friends and family!) and relax; take your time to look through your photos and decide which ones you would like to order. Sarah doesn't believe in pressure salesmanship--she wants you to enjoy the entire photography experience, including the presentation of proofs and the selection of your photographs.
